What a summer this is turning out to be! We have been busy with weddings, as you can see from the opening page, but we're busy with some other things as well.

Meghan had teh opportunity to go to Chicago with the Clay Band, and right now she is on a mission trip to Colorado. Considering the heat we have had, I'd almost swap weeks with her!

We'll be going to Edisto Island, SC in a few weeks for a wedding there. We're planning on doing a "day-after" session with the couple in Charleston, so check back to see that.

It's been entirely too long since we have posted to the personal blog. What better opportunity could we have than the birthday party for Pami ? She turned the big FIVE last week! Cinderella came to the party, and there was some face painting, cake, and hot dogs! Here's a few photos.

We love you Pami !!!!!!

Snow In Alabama!!!

It's very rare. In fact, the last real snow we had in the Birmingham was the 'blizzard' of '93, when, on March 12, 1993, we received anywhere from 18-24 inches of snow. That one was a mess. Power outages lasting up to 14 days, tree damage, and it was dangerously cold.

This was just about the perfect snow for us. It came. It went. No road closings. No travel problems. No power outages. Of course, we had to get out and play in it a little while. It was Maggie's first snow, and she had a blast. Here are a few:

Well another great Wynfrey Bridal Show is in the books. This year I took one of our cameras and took some quick snapshots of some of the booths for the people who could not make it to the show this year.
We even got a close-up of Phil, from Feel The Beat
A special thanks to Vince at Flowers Stems by Homewood Florist for the beautiful arrangement he made for the Bubbles and Bells booth.

Christmas. What a wonderful time of the year. Our favorite, in fact. Probably one of the best parts of the celebration is the music at Christmas. From church choir musicals to carols on the radio, it's a wonderful time of the year...and the sights... colors all aburst; children with excitement in their eyes; more food and goodies than we really need. It's all a lot of fun. It's also a time for families to be together, to enjoy each other, to have fun together.

Christmas is also a time to remember why we celebrate the season, the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the peace he brings.

So, from our family to yours, may your holiday season be filled with cheer, and may the Lord richly bless you and yours, during this holiday season, and the coming year.

Merry Christmas!

It has been an amazingly busy six weeks since we've posted anything on the blog. We've been busy with client work, trying to get all those orders out in time for Christmas.

We recently had the opportunity to watch Glenn Glass, of "The Club," do one of his fantastic ice carvings. It was amazing to watch not only what he did, but to see what he uses. He's dressed much like a surgeon, and with surgical precision, using a chain saw, and various other powered cutting implements, he went about removing ice from the block to form an a beautiful angel with wings spread.

Glenn is the one who does all the ice carvings for The Club, so you are most likely familiar with his work. His true talent, and the artistry he combines, makes for some beautiful pieces of ice art. The next time you see one of these, you'll appreciate what goes into the creation. We certainly did.

We also toured the 'butterfly house" while we were in Calloway Gardens. I don't know the 'technical" names of any of the butterflies in there, but they we mostly pretty. If you stand still, they will light on you. They were everywhere. I kept thinking how much fun Maggie would have if she could go in there. She loves to chase butterflies!

After the wedding on Friday, we decided to take a little time to enjoy Calloway Gardens. While walking through the vegetable garden, we noticed this particular pumpkin. It reminded us of the soccer ball named "Wilson" in the Tom Hanks movie, "Cast Away."

Last night, we took the opportunity to go to the theatre for the Phantom Of The Opera National Tour. Beautifully done, in the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center Concert Hall.

If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing this wonderful play, we highly recommend it.

Here's a link to the Phantom Of The Opera website.

It's been a lot of fun watching all those little hummingbirds coming through and stocking up for the long trip across the water for the winter. It is amazing how they are able to fly that far non-stop, not to mention the navigational instincts they have. Here are a couple of images Carla made this year.

It's been quite a few years since we've photographed at a high school football game, but since our granddaughter, Meghan, is marching in the Clay Chalkville Cougars Band.... Well, it was a lot of fun!

This is just plain hillarious. It was sent to us by a friend, and we wanted to share it with you. It seems everyone wants to get in on the biker craze.

Tuesday night, we attended the kick-off party for the Perfect Wedding Guide, for the introduction of the new giude coming out in the Birmingham market. The event was held downtown Birmingham, at The Loft at Flower Stems, with the lighting provided by Design Productions, llc, and floral design by Vince Gray (Flower Stems) and his fantastic team. Great music was provided by the Music Caterers.

Great food was provided by B&A Warehouse Catering. with desert being a cake designed with the PWG logo. It was SO delicious, that a number of folks hung around to help consume what was left, or to take some home for later.

Thanks, Stephanie for inviting us, and to all the others involved for making it a wonderful evening.
